1. Who we are
MD Scholars LLC ("MD Scholars," "we," "us," "our") is a Missouri limited-liability company headquartered at 1641 Parquet Ct, St. Louis, MO 63146. We operate the website at mdscholars.com and provide mentored research training programs.
2. What we collect
Information you provide
- Application data: name, email, phone, country, education level, date of birth, program track, parent/guardian contact (for minors), research interests, prior experience, statement of purpose.
- Parental consent records: if you are under 18, a parent or guardian must sign our consent form; we retain the signed form and the parent's contact information.
- Payment records: we record the date, amount, and reference of bank transfers and checks. We do not store credit-card numbers or bank account credentials; payments are received directly into our bank account.
- Course activity: assignments you submit, questions you ask, attendance, and progress data while you are enrolled.
- Communications: emails you send to
team@,support@, orcontact@mdscholars.com.
Information collected automatically
- Standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages visited) via our static-site host (GitHub Pages) and CDN (Cloudflare).
- No third-party analytics or advertising trackers at this time.
3. How we use your information
- Review your application and make admission decisions.
- Communicate with you about your application, enrollment, payment, and coursework.
- Issue completion certificates and authorship attributions.
- Improve our programs and curricula.
- Comply with legal obligations (tax records, parental consent, etc.).
4. How we share your information
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with:
- Your assigned mentor and program leadership — to deliver the program.
- Service providers we use to run the website and email (Supabase for application data, Resend for transactional email, Cloudflare for DNS/email routing, GitHub Pages for hosting). These providers are bound by their own privacy policies and process data on our behalf.
- Conference organizers and journals — only when you submit abstracts or manuscripts through us, with your explicit authorship consent.
- Legal authorities — if required by law, subpoena, or court order.
5. Minors (under 18)
Applicants under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian sign our parental consent form. We collect the minimum information needed to enroll a minor in the program (name, school, grade, parent contact). Parents may request to review or delete their child's records by emailing contact@mdscholars.com.
6. Your rights
You may at any time:
- Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Request deletion of your data (subject to our obligation to retain certain records for tax, regulatory, and academic-integrity purposes).
- Withdraw consent for non-essential communications.
Email contact@mdscholars.com with subject "Privacy Request."
7. Data retention
We retain application records for 7 years for tax and academic-integrity purposes. We retain certificate and authorship records indefinitely for verification. You may request earlier deletion (see Section 6).
8. Data security
We use industry-standard encryption (HTTPS) for all data in transit, encrypted database storage at rest, role-based access controls, and routine security reviews. No internet-based system is 100% secure; we will notify affected users promptly in the event of a confirmed data breach.
9. International users
We are based in the United States. If you access our services from outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the US, which may have different data-protection laws than your country.
10. Changes to this policy
We will post any updates to this page and email enrolled students if there are material changes.
